Arsenal Women 1-0 Everton Women: Stina Blackstenius scores controversial stoppage-time winner for Gunners

Stina Blackstenius scored a controversial stoppage-time winner for Arsenal to claim a 1-0 Women's Super League victory over Everton.

The Gunners had been frustrated three times by the crossbar throughout the game, with Beth Mead rattling the woodwork twice on her final appearance at the Emirates Stadium before leaving the club, along with an effort from Olivia Smith.

However, in the third minute of added time, Blackstenius found the bottom corner to lift Renee Segers' side into second in the Women's Super League - with one game left.

The goal was clouded by controversy after Lotte Wubben-Moy flicked the ball on for Leah Williamson from an offside position. The situation was then compounded by the Arsenal defender barging into Everton goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan shortly after.

As a result of the impact with Williamson, Brosnan was left on the ground and out of her goal, allowing Blackstenius to sweep home her effort to secure the win.

Your Site' Izzy Christiansen:

"I would be fuming. This is hard. It is difficult to see but Wubben-Moy is offside, it is tight but I expect the lineswoman to make that decision.

"That is the first phase. Leah Williamson is not offside but this [the contact on Brosnan] is offside; it is a clear and obvious foul on the goalkeeper. It is a late challenge.

"Brilliant finish from Blackstenius, of course. But it is a really difficult decision for Everton to digest."

Arsenal forward Beth Mead:

"I've been here for a long time, I have met so many amazing people. I have memories for life and it has been a huge honour to play for this amazing club for such a long, long time. I am going to miss you guys so much.

"It is tough to put into words. I have some of my most amazing memories here and some of my toughest, darkest days. I lost my mum when I was here and I wouldn't have got through that without these amazing people.

"I don't think thank you will ever be enough. You guys are the best fans in the world, we love you and I love you. Thank you so, so much."
