The 2026 PGA Championship is live on Your Site next week and a plethora of stars - from the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and LIV Golf - are set to compete for glory in the second major of the season at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania.
Rory McIlroy returns to the PGA Tour following his successful defence of The Masters in April, with the Northern Irishman following a four-week break.
Defending champion Scottie Scheffler also returns to action, having chosen to skip the Truist Championship to prepare for the major at Aronimink.
Jordan Spieth, meanwhile, can become only the seventh player to win the men's career Grand Slam after McIlroy's heroics at Augusta in 2025. Spieth can also end a nine-year wait to win a major championship, with his last victory coming at the 2017 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
Meanwhile, after Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) announced it would be cutting its funding for LIV at the end of the 2026 season.
With just two open spots for the tournament left live on Your Site Golf this weekend, here's everything we know about the PGA Championship field so far...
Rahm and DeChambeau are set to headline the breakaway tournament's representation, with major winner and LIV player Dustin Johnson also granted a special exemption.
Phil Mickelson - who, at 50, became the oldest major winner after winning the PGA Championship in 2021 - has withdrawn from the tournament.
Recent major winner Cameron Smith and 2025 European Ryder Cup hero Tyrell Hatton join DeChambeau and Rahm as the names headlining the LIV contingent headed for Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania - but they will be joined by seven others.
Johnson received an invitation to compete from the PGA of America, despite no longer having automatic eligibility after his Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) fell to No 468. Younger LIV players Elvis Smylie, David Puig, Tom McKibbin and Thomas Detry, who joined the rebel league in January, also received exemptions.
Martin Kaymer, who won the tournament in 2010, receives an invitation to play as a past champion, while Joaquin Niemann is also able to compete, having finished inside the top-15 at last year's tournament.
Mickelson, after initially being included in the field, issued a statement confirming his withdrawal from the 2026 edition due to personal matters, the same reason he cited for missing The Masters last month.
The former champion has only made one start in LIV Golf this season as speculation around the future of the 55-year-old's golf career continues to swirl. He will be replaced by American Max Homa.
Woods, having been charged with driving under the influence following a car crash near his Florida home in March, is reported to be continuing his recovery with treatment in Switzerland and will not participate in this year's PGA Championship despite being eligible.
The three-time Grand Slam winner is ineligible to participate in the US Open without a special exemption, and , according to United States Golf Association chief executive Mike Whan. He has yet to issue a possible timetable for a return to golf.
Speaking on his form this season, the three-time major champion is confident his game is trending in the right direction.
"I had a good, healthy off-season," Spieth said to .
"This year, I feel like I have progressed a little bit. I have pretty much led in each category at different times, but I just haven't quite put it all together to win a golf tournament. But I feel really good about where things are at and where they are going."
Spieth showed flashes of brilliance at the Cadillac Championship, climbing to third on the leaderboard on day one, with an opening round of 65. The American has, though, struggled to score consistently over all four rounds at tournaments this year, with Spieth, 32, posting a second-round score of 71 and a third-round score of 75.
He has failed to make it into the top-10 at a PGA Tour event this season, and hasn't won on the circuit since his victory at the RBC Heritage in 2022.
His best finish at the PGA Championship came in 2015 at Whistling Straits, when he finished three shots behind Jason Day as a runner-up.
Defending champion Scheffler will be hoping to retain the PGA Championship crown, and has a good chance at doing it following three top-two finishes on the tour in his last three starts.
Nevertheless, much of the pre-tournament chatter has been centred around man of the moment McIlroy, who said his Masters victory in 2026 substantiated the hard work he has put in over the years.
"It [returning to action] feels a lot different [to last year]," McIlroy said in his pre-tournament press conference ahead of the Truist Championship. "Even winning [The Masters] felt different.
"I've spoken about this a lot, I felt like winning the Grand Slam was going to be this life-changing thing, and in some ways it was, but in other ways I had to remember, 'no, I still have a lot of my career left, and I want to keep playing and keep competing'.
"This year, winning was validation for all the work that I've put in over the last few years to get myself back to this place where I'm winning majors. I'm excited for the road ahead.
"I'm excited for this week, I'm excited for Aronimink next week [PGA Championship], Shinnecock [US Open], Birkdale [The Open]. I feel like, if anything, I'm more motivated after what happened at Augusta this year than I've ever been."
Matt Fitzpatrick is enjoying his best season on the PGA Tour to date. The Englishman, who won the US Open in 2022, has won three times on the American circuit this season, with two of those victories coming in his last two starts, at the RBC Heritage and alongside his brother Alex Fitzpatrick at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
At the RBC Heritage, he kept composed to outlast Scheffler in a play-off, draining a long putt on the 18th green to seal victory. While he fell shy of winning The Players Championship to Cameron Young in March, Fitzpatrick has stood up in high-pressure moments this year, and will bring plenty of confidence into the PGA Championship.
"I feel the biggest thing is I back myself in those moments," Fitzpatrick said ahead of the Truist Championship. "I don't feel overawed by the situation or who I'm playing against. We're all just people at the end of the day. So I certainly don't feel intimidated by that situation."
Young, meanwhile, is also a big favourite to win this week in Pennsylvania, with the American having won both the Players Championship and the Cadillac Championship. Prior to this season, the 28-year-old had won on the PGA Tour only once, but this year feels like a breakthrough season for the Team USA Ryder Cup player, who has impressed with his putting at the Cadillac Championship to fend off the advances of Scheffler and claim a dominant wire-to-wire victory.
Elsewhere, 2024 PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele is another player to watch this week. While he endured an indifferent start to the year, missing the cut at his first event, the Farmers Insurance Open, Schauffele has found a vein of form over the past three months, finishing inside the top-10 in three of his last four events, which included a third-place finish at The Players Championship.
After ending his Rahm is another who can challenge at Aronimink. The Spaniard has two victories and three second-place finishes on the LIV circuit this season, and has shot to the top of the league's individual standings. Despite his good form on LIV, Rahm struggled at The Masters, posting an opening round six-over par 78. He bounced back with a second-round score of 70 to make the cut. Despite a final-round 68, the 31-year-old would ultimately finish T38.
There are 154 players confirmed for the tournament, but two tournaments preceding the PGA Championship offer two additional spots to their winners.
The Myrtle Beach Classic offers the first, with Brooks Koepka, Shane Lowry and Rasmus Hojgaard headlining the South Carolina event.
All three golfers are qualified, with an extra spot for the PGA Championship only being granted to the winner had they not already qualified.
The Truist Championship - featuring the return of McIlroy in his first tournament since his historic Masters win - offers an extra place on the same conditions.
