By understanding the Russian Revolution, write out your thoughts on whether they were justified in their take down of the Empire...why or why not?

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

This is my personal opinion so you don't need to agree with me.

Explanation:

People were tired. Everyone: -the army because they weren't given enough equipment for the war

-the peasants, workers and the ethnic minorities because the widows and children didn't always receive state war pensions, the living and working conditions were horrible since nobody was getting paid enough

-the middle classes because Duma politicians had been dismissed by the Tsar

-the aristocracy because they suffered terrible losses due to the war and did not like Rasputin

Not only did things not get better, but the people were ignored first by the Tsar then by the Provisional Government. Twice already, the people in power had failed to improve the living conditions of the Russians; People just had to take matters in their own hands and have a leader that understood  their current situation. They were ready to die to let their children have a better life.

However, after the Socialists managed to take power, Lenine and the Bolsheviks became too aggressive and Lenine was power-hungry and then he just lost it.

Hope this helped :)

In at least 150 to 200 words, analyze the effects of two technologies that were first used during World War II, penicillin and the atomic bomb. Use evidence to develop your thesis and strengthen your opinion.

Answers

Answer:

Penicillin and the atomic bomb both proved to be large parts of World War II. Penicillin helped soldiers that needed that certain medicine. A saying was developed in WWII regarding penicillin: "Thanks to penicillin, we get to come home!". The atomic bomb was also a large factor in the war. The atomic bomb was created by scientists in New Mexico, the development was known as the "Manhattan project", it was a race against the Germans to create the first atomic bomb. The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki proved to be bitter-sweet -- it marked the end of the war, but thousands of innocent Japanese citizens died because of that cause. The atomic bomb really was a massive invention because of the risk of the Germans creating one before the US scientists, and it could have gone much worse had they succeeded.

Which difficulties did traders face on the Silk Road?
O Long distances and bad weather
O Large deserts and high mountains
Bandits and thieves
All of the above

Answers

Answer:

The main problems facing traders on the Silk Road were lack of safety and security, adverse weather conditions, rugged landscape, and lack of adequate.

Explanation:

The Silk Road is arguably the most famous long-distance trade route in the ancient world. This trade route connected Europe in the West with China in the East, and allowed the exchange of goods, technology, and ideas between the two civilizations. Silk, however, was the most celebrated commodity that was transferred along this route, traveling from China westwards. Although merchants could make huge profits if they succeeded in bring their goods to their destination, it was not without risks, as certain stretches of this route were extremely dangerous.

In spite of its name, the Silk Road was not one single road, but rather, a network of roads that connected the East and the West. It may be remarked that this name was only given quite recently, as it was coined in 1877 by the German historian and geographer, Ferdinand von Richthofen. ‘Officially’, the Silk Road was established when the Han Dynasty of China began to trade with the West, commonly said to be in 130 BC. This overland route continued to be used up until AD 1453, when the Ottoman Empire, which had conquered Constantinople in that year, decided to stop trading with the West, and therefore closed the routes.

What role did government and politics play in the arrival and evolution of the Cold War during the 20th century?

Answers

By the time World War II ended, most American officials agreed that the best defense against the Soviet threat was a strategy called “containment.” In his famous “Long Telegram,” the diplomat George Kennan (1904-2005) explained the policy: The Soviet Union, he wrote, was “a political force committed fanatically to the belief that with the U.S. there can be no permanent modus vivendi [agreement between parties that disagree].” As a result, America’s only choice was the “long-term, patient but firm and vigilant containment of Russian expansive tendencies.” “It must be the policy of the United States,” he declared before Congress in 1947, “to support free peoples who are resisting attempted subjugation…by outside pressures.” This way of thinking would shape American foreign policy for the next four decades.

How do you think Texas was impacted by the Civil War in comparison to other Southern States?

Answers

Answer:

READ EXPLAINATION

Explanation:

Texas declared its secession from the Union on February 1, 1861, and joined the Confederate States on March 2, 1861, after it had replaced its governor, Sam Houston, who had refused to take an oath of allegiance to the Confederacy. As with those of other states, the Declaration of Secession was not recognized by the US government at Washington, DC. Some Texan military units fought in the Civil War east of the Mississippi River, but Texas was more useful for supplying soldiers and horses for the Confederate Army. Texas's supply role lasted until mid-1863, when Union gunboats started to control the Mississippi River, which prevented large transfers of men, horses, or cattle. Some cotton was sold in Mexico, but most of the crop became useless because of the Union's naval blockade of Galveston, Houston, and other ports.

why did the Canadian government refuse the SS St Louis?

Answers

Explanation:

Canada's PM Justin Trudeau has apologised for his country's role in turning away a ship carrying over 900 Jewish refugees fleeing persecution.

In 1939, German liner the MS St Louis sailed to Havana, Cuba, but that country's government refused them entry, although they had visas.

The US and Canada also blocked them, denying the passengers safe haven.

The ship was forced to return to Europe and 254 of the refugees later died in Nazi concentration camps.

Addressing Canada's parliament, Mr Trudeau spoke of how the Liberal government of the day "was unmoved by the plight of these refugees".

"The government chose to turn its back on these innocent victims of Hitler's regime," he said.

Canada's refusal was indicative of its restrictive rules towards Jewish immigration at the time.

"Bitter resentment towards Jews were enshrined in our policies," said the prime minister on Wednesday.
