You are constructing a frame around a rectangular photo that has a length of 11inches and a width of 17
inches. You want the frame around the photo the same width all the way around and the total area of the
frame and photo to be 315 in2. What should the outer dimensions of the frame be?
Answer:
The fame would be 187
Explanation:
Answer:
L=15
W=21
Explanation:
Since it's a frame and the height is not listed, I decided that it was a normal rectangle, instead of a rectangular prism.
In this case, the equation we start with would look something like this:
315 = (17+2x)(11+2x)
2x is necessary because the frame covers the entire shape, meaning that it will apply twice, one for each end.
By simplifying this into standard form, we get:
-4x²-56x+128=0
Next, we plug this equation into the quadratic formula:
x=[tex]\frac{56±\sqrt{(-56)^2-4(-4)(128)}}{2(-4)}[/tex] (Please ignore the "A" next to 56, it wont disappear for some reason)
Through simplifying the quadratic formula, we get two answers:
x=-16
x=2
We can't use negatives, so 2 becomes what we use for X.
From here, use the following equations to solve for the corresponding lengths:
L=11+2(2)
W=17+2(2)
Answers:
L=15
W=21

Eliasson discusses his studio more as a 'laboratory' than a studio. What is the juncture of art and science in his pieces?
Answer and Explanation:
The junction between art and cinema in Eliasson's works is the capacity for exploration. Eliasson's work allows an exploration of a theme, or any element that is being visualized, as science does. However, this exploration shows itself in a subjunctive, poetic, reflexive and visually admirable way, as art promotes.
Eliasson recognizes the importance of science for art and art for science and for that reason, he manages to create works that address these two materials in such an efficient and thought-provoking way.

I love smooth words, like gold-enamelled fish

5 Words shy and dappled, deep-eyed deer in herds,
Come to my hand, and playful if I wish,
Or purring softly at a silver dish,
Blue Persian kittens, fed on cream and curds.

Answer:

Explanation:
Both poems celebrate the power and beauty of words, expressing their ability to create vivid images and convey meaning.
The theme of the transformative power of words is present in Francisco Alarcón's poem "words" as well as Elinor Wylie's poem "Pretty Words." In the poem "Pretty Words," Wylie highlights the beauty and versatility of words by equating them with various creatures and objects. She appreciates the variety of qualities that words possess, from soft and tender to bright and luminous.
Similar to this, Alarcón's poem depicts words as living things that can cross boundaries and cultures to communicate. He emphasizes how words can have an impact on people's lives whether they are familiar or unfamiliar and how language is universal, spanning geographic boundaries.
Both poets champion the notion that words are more than just symbols; they have a dynamic essence that can move readers to new levels of imagination and comprehension.

What are some things i should say as a response to help this cosmetologist out?
Response Below-
I just had the worst day since I started my career as a cosmetologist! I had this client come in, and I could tell by the way the other workers at my spa were talking about the client that she has been trouble in the past, but I thought “How bad can she be?” and decided to ignore my coworkers’ comments. I should have listened because I swear she was not even seated in the chair before she started complaining that the room was too cold, her footbath too hot, and that I was doing her pedicure all wrong. She kept telling me how much better other technicians have done it, and I felt like she was just picking me apart! Then, when I was putting on the polish that SHE picked out and handed to me, she got all mad and told me it was the wrong color, as if I got up and switched out the color. Of course she waited until I had all ten of her toes done to inform me that it was all wrong, and I had to take off the polish and start all over again. It must have taken her ten minutes to pick out a new color, so by the time I got back to painting her toes, I was well into my next appointment, and my client was stuck waiting while I dealt with the really picky customer. That threw off my whole afternoon, and I spent the rest of the day telling my regular customers I was sorry. By the time I got that impossible client out the door, she had said that she was going to talk to the manager and complain about me, like the whole thing was all my fault! I have been working at this location for about eight months, and most of clients have been awesome. Until today, I have thought this was the best job. But I would not even have shown up if I had known this was the day I was going to have! Now I am terrified that I will meet up with her again and she will get me fired. What can I do about this impossible client? I could really use some advice from those of you with more experience.
