Explain how you, as a social worker, might apply a systems perspective to your work with Lester Johnson? Finally, explain how you might apply a systems perspective to social work practice?

Answers

Answer:

We have established that people are constantly and dynamically involved in interaction with their social  environment (Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman, 2016 p.35). Lester recently was in an auto accident which  caused cognitive and physical damage. Because of the accident, Lester required additional rehab once  released from the hospital.

The microsystem level deals with a small social circle interaction that normally consists of a close  relationship with the individual’s family. In the case of Lester, his family consists of two children, brother,  and sister-in-law. His children have little to no involvement with his rehab care, the only family who has a played a significant role is his sister-in-law “sister-in-law seemed to be the most actively involved in  planning for his follow-up care” (Plummer, S., Makris, S., & Brocksen, S, 2014). On the micro level, I  would involve his family members and reiterate the importance of the support Lester needs during this  process. This lack of interaction or concern for Lester by most of his family transfers into the mezzo  system. The mezzo system is based on the interaction and relationship of the client. On the Macro level, I would ensure that the client along with the family is comfortable with the transition and facility  placement. I would also review the possibilities for Lester after the rehab process is over. Determine  rather or not he is self-sufficient enough to function on his own with minimum assistance from the  family or requires around the clock care.

The system theory in the case of Lester reflects how everyone involved is influenced by one another.  Lester accident has caused his children to withdraw from him physically, his brother doesn’t visit as well  while his sister-n-law is the only who supports him. There could be several logical reasons why the other  members of Lester’s family haven’t visited him. It could be because of the condition that he is in. In some cases, out of sight out of mind is whom family members handle this type of situation or the children  have lost their mom and could possibly think that they will use their father. As a social worker, in this  case, I would find a way to strengthen the family. I would refer the family to outside resources or  organizations that could help the family restore each other. A genogram could be used also to assist the  family with recognizing each member and the relationship amongst them.

How are the economies of South America similar?

Answers

Answer:

In the chapter on communication in social systems we suggested that highly cohesive groups sometimes make faulty decisions when deciding a course of action because they become locked into a particular perspective, or plan, and disregard other ideas in order to keep group conformity intact. This phenomenon is known as

Answers

Answer:

This phenomenon is known as Groupthink.

Explanation:

Groupthink is a phenomenon that happens when a group behaves and acts in an extremely cohesive and harmonious way, reaching the point where a member, or more, of that group cannot express an opinion if it is contrary to the objectives and thoughts of the group as a whole, even if the group's goals and thoughts are incorrect. An example of this can be seen in the question above, where a highly cohesive group gets to make the wrong decisions, because they are stuck in a perspective and do not have the audacity to change their thoughts and ideas.

In Laura Cereta's Defense of the Liberal Instruction of Women what reason does she give for why there are so few intellectual women in Renaissance Italy? Group of answer choices the challenges of caring for home and family are too demanding to allow women time to get educated Men have prevented women from gaining education Women choose lesser goals for themselves women are too preoccupied with childbearing to worry about intellectual pursuits

Answers

Answer:

Women choose lesser goals for themselves

Explanation:

In Laura Cereta's Defense of the Liberal Instruction of Women, the reason she gave for why there are so few intellectual women in Renaissance Italy is that "Women choose lesser goals for themselves."

This is evident from the letter written by Laura Cereta on January 13, 1488, where she claimed that "...And here choice alone, since it is the arbiter of character, is the distinguishing factor. For some women worry about the styling of their hair, the elegance of their clothes, and the pearls and other jewelry they wear on their fingers. Others love to say cute little things, to hide their feelings behind a mask of tranquility, to indulge in dancing, and to lead pet dogs around on a leash. For all I care, other women can long for parties with carefully appointed tables, for the peace of mind of sleep, or they can yearn to deface with paint the pretty face they see reflected in their mirrors..."

Take a look at the World POPClock where you can compare the ever changing world population with years gone by. The current world population is over 7 billion people. Do you believe that the U.S. should be concerned about overpopulation and that immediate action is warranted, or do you believe that the risks of overpopulation have been grossly overstated? What about other parts of the world? List at least one source from your research.

Answer:

I believe that the U.S. should be concerned about overpopulation and that immediate action is warranted.

Explanation:

Yes, I believe that the U.S. should be concerned about overpopulation and that immediate action is warranted because with the increase in population more space is required for their living and more food is needed to feed them. There are many organizations of United Nation and NGOs work in order to control the population of the world by producing awareness in the people. The United states of America should provide funds to these organization and NGOs in order to produce the awareness about population control.
