At the time the kid’s were not aware that Troy had “connections” from his old town, which was less than an hour away. When Troy attended the parties, he started bringing those “connections” with him. Soon all the kids started smoking weed along with their alcohol consumption at the parties. John was an athlete, so he maintained his “sober” lifestyle of only drinking, that way he would not fail a drug test. Troy’s “connections” quickly started giving him marijuana laced with LSD thinking it would give the kids a better “party”. The kid’s who now expected weed to be at the party, were now smoking what they thought was weed, just to find out that they were also using LSD.
