Answer:

See Explanation

Explanation:

The story of the request of Nehemiah to Artaxerxes' King of Persia is recorded in the second chapter of the book of Nehemiah. The first verse of the chapter reads;

"And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, [that] wine [was] before him: and I took up the wine, and gave [it] unto the king. Now I had not been [beforetime] sad in his presence." Nehemiah 2:1

Nehemiah was the cup bearer of the King Artaxerxes' who reigned from 464 – 424 B.C.

Nehemiah was depressed after he was informed of the deplorable state of Jerusalem and its walls. His depression caught the attention of the King who asked him what the matter was. Nehemiah uttered a short prayer in his heart and told the king that his sorrow was connected to the state of Jerusalem, the city of God.

The King then gave him permission to go back to Jerusalem and rebuild it. He also commanded officials of his kingdom to provide Nehemiah with materials for the massive project.

This story shows us that God deeply loves his people and does not abandon them irrespective of their sins. His anger does not last forever but His loving kindness is always towards those whom He has called as His own.

What happens to Elie's after liberation?
He becomes very ill and nearly dies.
He goes back to Sighet.
He joins the American army.
He goes out for a steak dinner

Answers

Answer:

He becomes very ill and nearly dies.

Explanation:

Elie Wiesel's memoir "Night" recounts the events that led to the Jewish discrimination that would become of the most horrendous crimes in world history. The Holocaust led to the deaths of millions of people, especially the Jews, after the Nazi regime under Hitler decided to prosecute them, making the event the worst genocide.

Despite the horrible conditions of living in the concentration camps, and the majority of his family dying during it, Elie Wiesel managed to survive. In the last part of the memoir, Elie mentioned "Three days after the liberation of Buchenwald, I became very ill: some form of poisoning. I was transferred to a hospital and spent two weeks between life and death." But he recovered and became a recipient of the 1986 Nobel Peace Prize.

Samantha is going to run after her bouncing ball: estabish facts and a theory.

This situation could become an accident: form opinions.

I should brake. I should swerve. I should do nothing. Create an argument to defend opinion.

I cannot brake in time, so it is best to swerve my vehicle to evade Samantha and the ball. Analyze to critique the steps.

Describe three processes by which water moves into the atmosphere. Which process accounts for most of the water moving into the atmosphere?

Answers

Answer: The three processes are;

1) Transpiration

2) Evaporation

3) Sublimation

Evaporation accounts for most of the water moving into the atmosphere

Explanation:

Water is absorbed into the atmosphere by transpiration, evaporation and sublimation.

Transpiration: This refers to the loss of water in form of water vapor from plants via their leaves. Only a little amount of water absorbed by plants is used for their nourishment. The remaining is removed from the aerial part of the plants either through the stomata, lenticels or the cuticle.

Sublimation: This method of water supply to the atmosphere is through the transformation of ice or snow into water vapor.

Evaporation: This process accounts for most of the water moving into the atmosphere. It is the process through with water from seas, oceans, lakes, rivers changes to gas. This method provides nearly 90% of water in the atmosphere.

Explain how the themes in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are still applicable to students in the 21st century.

Answers

Answer:

The themes in Dr. Jekyll and  Mr. Hyde include "the duality of human nature" and "reputation." These themes apply to the students in the 21st century as most students are faced with the challenge to choose between good and evil, and are also concerned about their reputation.

Explanation:

"Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" is a novella written by Robert Louis Stevenson. The novella is about the dual character of Dr. Jekyll.

The themes prevalent in the novella are "the duality of human nature" and "reputation."  These themes apply to the students in the 21st century as, just like Dr. Jekyll, they are faced with the challenge to choose between good and evil. When they encounter such situations where they have to choose either one of them, they come across "the duality of human nature."

Another theme prevalent in the novella was "reputation." The students in the 21st century are most concerned about their reputation. Especially when they come under the peer-pressure. They might take the wrong steps to maintain a fake reputation among their peer groups.

Question 19 (5 points)
Read the following passage and answer the question that follows:
from Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
(1)One morning, when Gregor Samsa woke from troubled dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin. He lay on
his armour-like back, and if he lifted his head a little he could see his brown belly, slightly domed and divided by arches into stiff sections. The
bedding was hardly able to cover it and seemed ready to slide off any moment. His many legs, pitifully thin compared with the size of the rest
of him, waved about helplessly as he looked.
(2)"What's happened to me?" he thought. It wasn't a dream. His room, a proper human room although a little too small, lay peacefully between
its four familiar walls. A collection of textile samples lay spread out on the table -Samsa was a travelling salesman - and above it there hung a
picture that he had recently cut out of an illustrated magazine and housed in a nice, gilded frame. It showed a lady fitted out with a fur hat and
fur boa who sat upright, raising a heavy fur muff that covered the whole of her lower arm towards the viewer.
(3) Gregor then turned to look out the window at the dull weather. Drops of rain could be heard hitting the pane, which made him feel quite
sad. "How about if I sleep a little bit longer and forget all this nonsense", he thought, but that was something he was unable to do because he
was used to sleeping on his right, and in his present state couldn't get into that position. However hard he threw himself onto his right, he
always rolled back to where he was. He must have tried it a hundred times, shut his eyes so that he wouldn't have to look at the floundering
legs, and only stopped when he began to feel a mild, dull pain there that he had never felt before.

What main conflict is revealed so far in this story? (5 points)

a.Gregor does not enjoy his job.

b.Gregor is having disturbing dreams.

с.Gregor has transformed into a bug.

d.Gregor cannot sleep
