Write an original piece developing an imagined or real experience/event using effective narrative techniques such as dialogue, pacing, relevant descriptive details, and reflection, in order to develop a plot and/or characters.
Prompt: Suppose you had invented a time machine. Write a story about what you did with it.
What is the lesson you want your readers to learn?
What is the plot?
Answer:
After years of tiring work, she finally did it! A time machine, at last, she can prove everyone who ever doubted her wrong! The lab was completely silent, except for the hum of the machine. Dr.lewis looked around, before opening the hatch. Inside the machine, it looked as if she was inside a plastic cube. The room was completely empty except for a screen and a series of 5 buttons. Using the screen she could teleport herself to any place and time. The buttons allowed her to control how long she would stay in a particular place or time. That way she could prevent someone from getting lost in time. All of those things had been created and perfected over time as she had worked on it. Checking that everything was functioning, Dr.lewis shut down the machine and began to prepare for the next day. She would present her creation to renowned scientists. Many of whom laughed and doubted her. When Dr.lewis had first presented her idea, no one believed in her except for a close friend and colleague known as Professor Sandra Diaz. She was close to giving up when that same friend encouraged her to keep trying. Soon after that, discovered the technology that confirmed her theory. Even though her theory had been proven, she still had no way to fund her project. So she began working at a boring job... at a company who didn't appreciate her genius. And not long after that, Dr.Lewis developed the first technology that would lead to the time machine. Even though many laughed, she had worked hard! She never gave up and because of that, she succeeded.
The lesson I want my readers to learn is that through hard work and dedication, you can do anything!
