Read the passage from "By the Waters of Babylon.”

All the same, when I came to the Place of the Gods, I was afraid, afraid. The current of the great river is very strong—it gripped my raft with its hands. That was magic, for the river itself is wide and calm. I could feel evil spirits about me, I was swept down the stream. Never have I been so much alone—I tried to think of my knowledge, but it was a squirrel's heap of winter nuts. There was no strength in my knowledge any more and I felt small and naked as a new-hatched bird—alone upon the great river, the servant of the gods.

Written story about a sick girl

Answers

Answer:

Athela (I don't know where the name came from okay, you can change it later) gazed outside of her small hospital window at the world below. Once upon a time she had been a part of that world, she had played on the playground with the other kids, she had eaten whatever she wanted, and she hadn't been stuck in a hospital with a needle sticking into her arm. But that was in the past, only a blissful memory of that time remained. Athela had been admitted into the hospital after the accident, first, it was only because they wanted to see if anything was wrong, but then it was because they needed to do more test, and before she knew it, Athela was a permanent resident of Brookside Hospital until further notice. That marked the last day she had seen her parents in six years, she had counted it carefully, and since she was four when they left her at Brookside, that would mean that she was ten. Of course, Brookside Hospital was definitely not brookside. Its location in the middle of the city made it even more depressing, Athela could watch the world go by, and would never be able to actually enter it, the most she could do was watch from the window.

It was during her routine, right before lunch, that she noticed another kid. Now, kids were not out of the ordinary, they passed the window multiple times a day, but this was strange because the boy had also noticed her, which was very extraordinary. He waved from the pavement, smiling up at her. Out of her human instinct, Athela waved back. then something even more extraordinary happened, the boy, with what looked like his mother in tow, marched right into the front door of Brookside Hospital.

A few moments later, a nurse came, "there's someone here to see you today," and the boy came tromping in, with his mother trudging behind him. The first thing that she noticed about the boy's mother, was that she was also her mother. Or looked quite similar. Quite extraordinary.

explain your interpretation of a passage or set of passages from The Diary of a Young Girl

Answers

Answer:I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support.

Explanation:Anne writes this on the inside cover of her diary just after she receives it for her thirteenth birthday. At the time, she feels that she does not have any true confidants, which makes her feel lonely and misunderstood. Anne does, however, have many friends and admirers, and she is a playful, amusing, and social young girl. Thus, her sentiments in this passage may seem odd and a bit exaggerated, but she later explains that even though she has friends, she is never fully able to open up to them. Anne finds that she and her friends talk only about trivial things, even when she has deeper things on her mind that she wishes to share. For example, she never broaches the subjects of her developing body or Germany’s occupation of Holland. Having a diary—which she addresses as “Kitty,” like a friend—enables her to express her thoughts without fear of being criticized by others. Anne’s relationship with her diary helps comfort her through her insecure, lonely, and fearful time in hiding.

Consider the Tips for Responsible Financial Decisions discussed in this module. Using some of these tips, what advice would you give Brian on at least one of his financial decisions? How will your advice help Brian reach his financial goal?

Answers

Answer:

In order for Brian to reach his financial goals he needs to do the following:

1. Set those goals using the ASMART goals setting techniques.

His goals must be Aligned with his personal aspirations;

He must be Specific with the figures he plans to reach in terms of savings, investments etc;

The goals must be Measurable;

The goals must be Achievable; There is no use setting goals that cannot be attained;

The goals must be Realistic; Brian cannot be on a monthly salary of $10,000 and hope to attain a savings of $1 000,000

The goals must be Time-bound; He must put a date to the financial goals

So here is an example: Assuming that he earns $10,000 every month and his expenses every month is $6500, Brian can set his goals as follows:

I'm am saving toward my Ph.D. I have by December 31, 2021 the sum of $30,000. I will achieve this by setting aside at least $2,500 dollars every month starting from January 31, 2021

Another set of habits for financially responsible people include but are not limited to the following:

they make a commitment to a never-ending personal improvement by reading books that increase their financial literacy;make a budget and stick to it etc.
