As a political leader, who among the Philippine presidents you would like to emulate? Why?

Answers

Answer 1

As a political leader, I would like to emulate Ferdinand E. Marcos among the Philippine presidents.

Why is it him? Because, in my opinion, he is the best President the Philippines has ever had. How am I going to outdo what he did?

First, by paying off the Philippines' debt to China, I would resign from my position and humbly knock on the doors of the Filipino people, asking for 2 pesos per family, but if they're wealthy, I would likely ask for an amount increase, and other ways to raise money for the country.

Second, under Marcos, the Philippines was the richest country, and I aspire to surpass his achievements. Aside from that, I would improve our country's educational system so that everyone has access to the education that every child requires.

Education is something that everyone deserves, and having a better education for the children who will lead our country to success one day. I'd also like to start a program where homeless families may get aid finding a place to live. I know that if I can complete these one by one, I'll be able to tackle more.

c. lowered tariff rates for many items entering the country and eliminated some tariffs altogether. The Underwood-Simmons Tariff Act, which was passed by Congress with Woodrow Wilson's support, aimed to reduce tariff rates and promote competition in the market. It lowered tariffs on many items entering the country and eliminated tariffs on some goods altogether.

This led to a decrease in prices for consumers and helped to stimulate economic growth. The act did not eliminate the federal income tax, but actually introduced a graduated income tax as a way to make up for the lost revenue from reduced tariffs.

However, they were also subject to the authority of the Roman Empire and were required to follow Roman laws as well.

Ehrman's claim that Christians had the same rights and responsibilities as everyone else in the empire means that they were entitled to the same legal protections and freedoms as other citizens. However, this system led to problems, particularly when the president and vice-president were from different political parties.

The twelfth amendment, which was ratified in 1804, addressed this issue by requiring electors to cast separate votes for president and vice-president. David Kennedy is a criminologist who has written extensively on the topic of crime and violence. While he has contributed to many different areas of criminology, some of his main points regarding crime, violence, and the criminal justice system include:

The importance of prevention: Kennedy argues that the criminal justice system should focus more on preventing crime and violence before they occur, rather than just reacting to them after the fact. He emphasizes the importance of addressing the root causes of crime and violence, such as poverty, lack of education, and social inequality, in order to prevent them from occurring in the first place.

The need for evidence-based policies: Kennedy advocates for evidence-based policies in the criminal justice system, meaning that policies should be based on empirical research and data rather than anecdotal evidence or political ideology. what is obrien suggesting when he describes himself as having had a modest stand against the war

Answers

In describing himself as having had a modest stand against the war. O'Brien is suggesting that he did not have a significant impact on the course of the war or on public opinion about the war. He acknowledges that his opposition to the war was not particularly forceful or outspoken, but rather a personal decision he made based on his own beliefs and values.

O'Brien's description of his stand as modest also implies a sense of humility and recognition that he was not the only one who opposed the war, nor did he have all the answers for how to end it.
At the same time, O'Brien's use of the word "modest" also suggests a sense of regret or dissatisfaction with his own actions. He may feel that he could have done more to speak out against the war or to persuade others to join him in his opposition. By describing his stand as modest, he is also acknowledging that there were others who were more vocal and active in their opposition to the war and that they may have had a greater impact on the outcome.

He argued for two main points: (1) independence from England and (2) the creation of a democratic republic. Paine avoided flowery prose. He wrote in the language of the people, often quoting the Bible in his arguments.

Final answer:

The famous ship referenced in the question is the Gaspée, a British revenue ship burned by Rhode Island colonists in 1772 in retaliation against British tax laws, marking a crucial turning point towards the American Revolution.

Explanation:

The famous ship referred to in the question is the British revenue ship, the Gaspée. It was burned by Rhode Island colonists in 1772 in Narragansett Bay, an incident known as the Gaspée Affair. The ship was accused of smuggling goods and after it was burned, the British government set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry with the power to send colonists charged with treason to Great Britain for trial.

Such actions increased the tensions between the British and the colonists, leading further to the escalation of the crisis that culminated in the American Revolution. The British sought to maintain law and order by positioning troops strategically and undertaking punitive measures like shutting down Boston Harbor and unilaterally moving trials of crown officers out of Massachusetts.

The efforts to disarm the insurgents in Massachusetts by taking their weapons, and ammunition, and arresting leaders of the patriotic movement set the stage for the start of the American Revolution. This transpired when Massachusetts militias and British troops opened fire on each other.

what drives the push for imperialism of the late 1800s? what is the impact of imperialism on europe and on the world?

Answers

The push for imperialism in the late 1800s was driven by a variety of factors, including economic, political, and ideological motivations.

Some of the key factors that drove the push for imperialism include:

Economic interests: Many European countries saw the acquisition of colonies and overseas territories as a way to access new markets for their goods and resources, as well as to secure new sources of raw materials for their industries. This drive for economic gain was a significant factor in the expansion of European imperialism.

Political interests: Imperialism was also driven by political factors, such as the desire of European powers to gain a greater influence and control over international affairs, as well as to assert their dominance over other nations. The competition between European powers for colonies and overseas territories was a key driver of imperialism during this period.

Ideological motivations: Some European countries also saw imperialism as a way to spread their ideas and values, such as democracy, capitalism, and Christianity, to other parts of the world. This ideological drive for imperialism was particularly prominent in the British Empire, which was motivated by a belief in its own civilizing mission.

Why did European nations want to expand into China?

Answers

European nations had various motivations for wanting to expand into China during different historical periods. Here are some key reasons:

Trade and Economic Opportunities: China was renowned for its rich resources, advanced civilization, and flourishing trade networks. European nations sought to gain access to valuable goods such as silk, tea, porcelain, and spices that were in high demand in Europe. They aimed to establish direct trade routes and bypass intermediaries, thereby maximizing their profits and expanding their economies.
Wealth and Commercial Dominance: The European powers of the time, such as Great Britain, France, and Portugal, were engaged in intense competition for global dominance and economic supremacy. Expanding into China would allow them to control lucrative trade routes and gain an upper hand over rival nations. They sought to establish colonies, trading posts, and exclusive rights to trade with China to strengthen their economic and political power.
Missionary and Religious Objectives: European nations, particularly Portugal and Spain, had a strong missionary zeal and aimed to spread Christianity worldwide. China presented an opportunity for European missionaries to convert the Chinese population to Christianity. Some European powers viewed their expansion into China as a way to bring their religious and cultural influence to the region.
Geopolitical Considerations: China's vast size, population, and political significance made it an attractive target for European nations seeking to expand their geopolitical influence. Control over Chinese territories and resources would enhance their strategic position and enable them to exert political influence in East Asia.
It's important to note that these motivations varied among different European nations and evolved over time as historical contexts changed. The desire to expand into China stemmed from a combination of economic, political, religious, and strategic factors, reflecting the complex dynamics of European imperialism and global power struggles.
