Which event introduces the solution in this passage?

Tamica stood gasping at the window next to the gate, watching her plane taxi down the runway. It gained speed, its nose tilted skyward, and then it left the ground behind, tucking up its now-unneeded wheels as it soared toward the United States. This was not only Tamica's plane, it was also the night's last plane from London to the United States.
Tamica sat down right where she was to think. Her semester in the small English town of Sheffield was over, and she was supposed to be flying home right now. She'd moved out of the flat she'd shared with other students and all of her belongings were now airborne. She was faced with a long night in the airport or a night in the unfamiliar city of London.
"Mom, what am I going to do?" Tamica groaned on the phone.
"Tamica, I have a friend who lives near Heathrow Airport in London. I'll call her and try to have her come get you. Does that sound alright?"
"Yes, thank you!" Tamica exclaimed.
Outside the airport, Tamica sat down once again, still without luggage, but with a calmer mind. Home would have to wait until tomorrow.

Tamica spending a semester abroad in England
Tamica waiting outside for her ride
Tamica's phone call with her mom
Tamica missing her flight

Answers

Answer:

She was left clueless about how to spend the long night at the Heathrow airport but after the call, she gets to way to get out of this problem as one of her mom's friend live near the airport. Thus, this event brings a solution to her problem and hence, option C is the correct answer.

Which of these statements is supported by the article?
A.
It is important to have a car to access Kansas City parks.
B.
Kansas City is too industrialized to have many parks.
C.
Many people live too far away to access Kansas City parks.
D.
Most people have access to one of Kansas City's parks.

THE PASSAGE:
Even in a city as large and industrialized as Kansas City, beautiful nature can be found and enjoyed. Parks and nature preserves are located all over the city. Sometimes, it can be hard to find them unless you know where to begin looking. A good place to start is the Parks Department Web site. On it, you will find the locations of these and other great parks.
For the nature lover, hiking trails are very important. Trails can be smooth sidewalks through manicured parks or rough dirt tracks through wilderness areas. Kansas City has both and everything in between. Whether you are a young, avid hiker or a senior citizen looking for a leisurely stroll, you will find something.
Shawnee Mission Park is one of Kansas City’s most popular parks. This 1,250 acre park is one of the most visited parks in the state. It has beautiful hiking trails for people of all ages and abilities. Native wildlife is everywhere! Also, Shawnee Mission Park has a sparkling lake and camp grounds. For the dog lovers, Shawnee Mission Park has one of the largest off-leash dog parks in the city!
A short drive outside of Kansas City will take you to Fleming Park, the largest park in the area. Fleming Park is a popular destination for bird watchers and is the home of the Burroughs Audubon Library. The park also contains two lakes, campgrounds, and hundreds of miles of trails. Don’t forget your bathing suit and your wildlife guide!
In the city, it is easy to forget that we are animals and that we live with nature. Get out to one of these great parks to remember those facts. If you do not have access to a car, check the Parks Department Web site and look for something in your area or just off of the public transportation routes. It is worth your time.

Answers

Answer:

D.

Explanation: By process of elimination, A. Is wrong because the article mentions that you can also take public transportation; therefore not requiring your own vehicle.

B. Is wrong because the article is listing many parks in and surrounding Kansas City

C is out because the parks are in the Kansas City area

Answer:

D. Most people have access to one of Kansas City's parks.

Explanation:

During the course of the passage, the writer mentions multiple parks, how to access them, and the importance of them and visiting them.  It cannot be answer B, since the passage talks about having parks in Kansas City even though it is industrialized.  The writer only mentions having a car once, and when they do, they explain what to do if you do not have a car.  From that knowledge, answer A can be ruled out.  The passage also highlights the point that there are enough parks in Kansas City that it should not be to difficult to go and visits them, therefore the answers can also not be answer C.  That leaves answer D, which the passage supports through examples of parks to access and ways to access them.

Write a one page essay about a challenge you overcame in life
250 words

Answers

Answer:

uh so like this is 258 words but you get the point.

Explanation:

Life brought forth many challenges, but the one I overcame is letting other people’s opinions affect me. It started in middle school, when I was more concerned about how others thought of me rather than how I thought about myself. I was giving their thinking about me more importance than how I felt about myself. Due to this, I started to see only the flaws and problems with myself, and never the goodness in me. It took me a while to realize how the inside of a person matters more than the outside. Still though, the anxiety and self-esteem was still an issue. From how I looked to how I acted, I wanted to change that. I wanted to change myself, and replace me with someone everyone else wanted. It was tempting to do such a thing, but I didn’t know how to. I was in a confused state of mind, and very much concerned.

Soon after, I took the time to appreciate myself of a person who had survived through so much rather than the person everyone else was saying I was. “I am who I say I am, whether you like it or not,” I said to myself repeatedly. Daily affirmations, surrounding myself with supportive people, and keeping my head is what helped me through this difficulty I faced. I may not be the person someone wants me to be, but I am the person who I want to be. Keeping this in mind, I managed to overcome this situation that had occurred in my life.

Life gives us lots of challenges. One challenge which I faced is leaving my hometown and to move in other country for Studies.

The decision to move to a new nation was one such hardship that significantly affected my life. It was terrifying to think about starting over in a foreign country after leaving behind everything familiar. However, I not only overcome this problem but also learned new things about myself via flexibility, resiliency, and an open mind. I made baby steps, getting involved in the community, taking language classes, and trying to learn and respect the traditions and practices of my new home. I gradually began establishing relationships, creating friends, and developing a network of allies, which helped the move go more smoothly.

I didn't make the choice to move away from my nation of origin and live abroad lightly. The idea of adjusting to a new culture, language, and way of life initially alarmed me. Moments of uncertainty and homesickness were crucial turning points for resilience. I kept telling myself that difficulties were a natural part of life's fabric and that what really important was how I handled them. I changed my perspective, choosing to concentrate on the potential this new experience offered rather than wallowing in the things I left behind.

I gradually came to realize that I was stronger and more adaptable than I had ever been. The difficulties that at first looked insurmountable changed into chances for personal development.

Thus, There are lot of challenges in life, which put our tenacity and resiliency to the test.

Harvard, Favorite fictional character

Of all the characters that I've "met" through books and movies, two stand out as people that I most want to emulate. They are Attacus Finch from To Kill A Mockingbird and Dr. Archibald "Moonlight" Graham from Field of Dreams. They appeal to me because they embody what I strive to be. They are influential people in small towns who have a direct positive effect on those around them. I, too, plan to live in a small town after graduating from college, and that positive effect is something I must give in order to be satisfied with my life.

Both Mr. Finch and Dr. Graham are strong supporting characters in wonderful stories. They symbolize good, honesty, and wisdom. When the story of my town is written I want to symbolize those things. The base has been formed for me to live a productive, helpful life. As an Eagle Scout I represent those things that Mr. Finch and Dr. Graham represent. In the child/adolescent world I am Mr. Finch and Dr. Graham, but soon I'll be entering the adult world, a world in which I'm not yet prepared to lead.

I'm quite sure that as teenagers Attacus Finch and Moonlight Graham often wondered what they could do to help others. They probably emulated someone who they had seen live a successful life. They saw someone like my grandfather, 40-year president of our hometown bank, enjoy a lifetime of leading, sharing, and giving. I have seen him spend his Christmas Eves taking gifts of food and joy to indigent families. Often when his bank could not justify a loan to someone in need, my grandfather made the loan from his own pocket. He is a real-life Moonlight Graham, a man who has shown me that characters like Dr. Graham and Mr. Finch do much much more than elicit tears and smiles from readers and movie watchers. Through him and others in my family I feel I have acquired the values and the burning desire to benefit others that will form the foundation for a great life. I also feel that that foundation is not enough. I do not yet have the sophistication, knowledge, and wisdom necessary to succeed as I want to in the adult world. I feel that Harvard, above all others, can guide me toward the life of greatness that will make me the Attacus Finch of my town.

9. What ends the Hannukah celebration?

Answers

Answer:

Hanukkah is a Jewish festival that lasts eight days, commemorating the 'oil miracle' in Jerusalem's Second Temple in 164 BC. The first day of this festival begins after sunset on the 24th day of the Jewish month of Kislew.

The feast marks the rededication of the Second Temple in 164 BC celebrated by Judas Maccabeus. After the rededication, according to the description of the miracle of the oil in the Talmud, only one jar of kosher oil was available to burn the menorah during the cleansing of the Temple. However, the jar did not run out until fresh pure oil was prepared, but poured enough oil to keep the menorah burning for eight days. Therefore, Hanuka ends at the end of the eighth day of festivities.
