D. People in an urban area might take a bus or subway to and from work, and people in a rural area probably drive to and from work.

D.) People in an urban area might take a bus or subway to and from work, and people in a rural area probably drive to and from work.

The reasoning behind my answer is simple. One representation of the word urban would be a city, and a rural area is quieter like out in the country. In rural areas you don't see subways or busses whereas there isn't that large of a space to require busses because rural areas are like small towns or just off in the country. Also if urban is represented by a city then it would make sense that the answer would be D because there are busses in large cities. Also rural areas usually are small meaning it would not only be easy to walk to a destination in a rural area, but it would would also be even easier to drive. After all, why would you need to wait for a bus or a train when you could just drive a short distance to the destination.

Hope this helps.

meaning of Abraham Lincoln definition on democracy

Answers

Answer:

Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth president of the USA and has his own definition on democracy that is "Government of the people, by the people, for the people".

According to Abraham Lincoln, people of the country comes first before any government officials and they are superior as well as most important pillars of the democracy. So he said "Government of the people" means government is made of people which come from the common people without any biasness; "by the people" means to choose a government will be the decision of people of the country and no one else; and "for the people" means government will always take decisions in the favor of its people.

Below is an excerpt from the 10th Amendment to the US Constitution. "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by the States, are reserved to the States…or to the people." Which of these would be a challenge to the 10th Amendment? Group of answer choices The federal government creating post offices the federal government issuing teaching certificates The federal government raising an army or navy The federal government construction interstate highways

Answers

The correct answer is D) The federal government construction interstate highways.

Under the above-mentioned terms, what would be a challenge to the 10th Amendment is "The federal government construction interstate highways."

The 10th Amendment is to promote a balance of power between the Federal and State governments in the federal system.

In less complicated terms, the 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution refers to the idea that any power that is not considered to the federal government is given to the states. On September 5, 1789, the amendment was added to the US Constitution. Literally, the 10th Amendment says: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the States respectively or the people." The amendment respects the principle of federalism and gives the states the faculty to have some rights to create a balance of powers.
