Please answer the following essay question:

How do you think the settlers’ desire for more land would affect relations with the Indians? Explain your answer.

Your answer should be at least 5-7 sentences in length.

Answers

Desire for more land would mean that these settlers would look at the current inhabitants as temporary, a nuisance to be cleansed. While not all people looked at them this way, this did help rationalize and justify the mass relocation of Native Americans to what is now the west United States. Desire for land also meant that settlers would have to familiarize themselves with America and take record of their surroundings, like plant and animal life and geography, which was an expensive, laborious, dangerous, and time consuming thing to do. For that reason, many settlers had relatively good relations with the Natives, as it gave them the advantage of not having to do all of the necessary research themselves. Of course this did later on lead to mass relocation and arguably mass genocide when the natives became inconvenient, but all in all it really depended on how the Natives reacted to the settlers in the particular area. Take Roanoke for example: an entire settlement vanished for some unknown reason, but it was most likely done by a local Native American tribe that did not appreciate foreigners invading their territory. Also, they are NATIVE AMERICANS, not INDIANS! Indians are from India, so to call Native Americans Indians is not only ignorant, but also incorrect. If you have any other questions, just ask. (I have nothing better to do anyways, I have the week off) Happy Thanksgiving!

She was an italian noble woman and also she was the queen of France from 1547-1559

Answer:

Italian-born French queen, regent and mother of three kings of France. She was a powerful influence in 16th century France, particularly during the Wars of Religion.

Caterina Maria Romola di Lorenzo de Medici was born in Florence on 13 April 1519. Her father was Lorenzo de Medici, Duke of Urbino and ruler of Florence and her mother was Madeleine de la Tour d'Auvergne, cousin of Francis I, King of France.

Catherine's mother died when she was two-weeks-old and her father soon afterwards. In 1533, at the age of 14, Catherine's uncle Pope Clement VII arranged her marriage to the duke of Orléans, second son of the king of France.

A year after their marriage, the duke began a long affair with Diane de Poitiers. Diane remained a dominant force in his life for the next 25 years, leaving Catherine sidelined. It was not until ten years after their marriage that Catherine gave birth to their first child. This greatly improved the queen’s position and the couple eventually had seven surviving children.

In 1536, the duke of Orléans became heir to the throne. Eleven years later he was crowned Henry II of France. Unfortunately it was to be a short reign as Henry died in a jousting accident in 1559, thrusting Catherine onto the political stage. Their eldest son Francis was proclaimed king, but died after less than a year. Then in 1560, their second son Charles was crowned, aged just ten years old. Catherine acted as regent for the young king and as a result dominated Charles throughout his reign.

She at first adopted a conciliatory policy towards the Huguenots (French Protestants), but in 1562 civil war broke out in France, marking the beginning of the series of conflicts which became known as the French Wars of Religion.

In 1572, in an effort to bring reconciliation, Catherine arranged the marriage of her daughter Marguerite to the Protestant Henry, King of Navarre. During the wedding celebrations in Paris, the Huguenot leader, Coligny, was murdered, as were hundreds of other Protestants who had gathered for the wedding. This became known as the St Bartholomew’s Day Massacre, in which Catherine was probably involved.

Charles IX died in 1574 and Catherine's favourite son Henry succeeded as Henry III of France. She continued to play a central role in government and made further fruitless attempts to reconcile the opposing sides in the ongoing civil war.

Catherine died on 5 January 1589 and was buried next to her husband in the church of St Denis in Paris.

Mountains and seas brought the Greek city-states together. true or false

Answers

Answer:

[tex]True![/tex]

Also can you mark me brainliest if you want to? <3

Explanation:

Greek city-states likely developed because of the physical geography of the Mediterranean region. The landscape features rocky, mountainous land and many islands. These physical barriers caused population centers to be relatively isolated from each other. The sea was often the easiest way to move from place to place.

As a peninsula, the people of Greece took advantage of living by the sea. The mountains in Greece did not have fertile soil good for growing crops, like in Mesopotamia, but the mild climate allowed for some farming. The Greeks, like many other ancient civilizations, felt deeply connected to the land they lived on.

What was Treaty of Versailles?

The Treaty of Versailles is among history's most contentious armistice accords. The treaty's so-called "war guilt" clause required Germany and the other Central Powers to accept full responsibility for World War I. This entailed losing territory, reducing military forces, and paying reparations to Allied nations.

The severe provisions of the Treaty of Versailles, which the Allies forced the new German government, the Weimar Republic, to accept along with an obligation to pay $33 billion in war reparations, enraged and embarrassed him and other loyal Germans. Therefore,  option B is correct.
