Read the poem; We are responsible for children/kids prayer. What are your thoughts about this poem? (Paragraph)

Answers

Answer:

The poem talks about all of children's flaws in their behavior. It mentions things such as "sneaking popsicles before supper" and other naughty things kids do. Despite these "sins", adults still accept responsibility for these children and raise them. "For those we never give up on" Adults don't give up on kids. The poem mentions less fortunate kids, such as those born "where we wouldn't be caught dead". Yet we still accept responsibility for these kids. I believe the poem is trying to be ironic, because most adults don't accept such kids or try to help them.

need answer today Fourteen Days in Tokyo

It was July, and Todd wanted to hang out with his friends. Yet, on Friday, Todd and his family were flying to Tokyo, Japan. They would visit his grandmother, Obaasan. She liked being called by the Japanese word for grandmother. Obaasan promised to show them around Tokyo, but Todd really did not want to leave San Francisco.

First of all, they had to sit through an 11-hour flight to Tokyo. Todd’s mother was petite, so she didn’t suffer from the small amount of space each passenger had, but his father was soon complaining about leg cramps. This trip was even worse than Todd had expected.

After a taxi ride, they were at Obaasan’s apartment in a modern building. She met them with a big hug. Obaasan had prepared a special meal for them. Todd liked the rice and grilled tuna, but he didn’t care for the cake of soybeans called tofu. He had never eaten pickled vegetables, but the taste was not bad.

That night, Todd was exhausted and slept well. The next morning, Obaasan took them to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, the tallest building in the city. The observatory decks at the top are the best place to view all of Tokyo. It was a clear morning, so they could see Mount Fuji. It was the tallest mountain in Japan and a kind of volcano. Todd had never seen such a view! Maybe this trip would not be boring after all.

In the distance there is a volcano with a tree in the front of it.

Afterwards, they ate at a restaurant in the building. Everyone ordered sushi, a small, tasty food and a delicacy. Some pieces were rice rolled with fish and others were rice rolled with vegetables. The sushi in San Francisco was not nearly as good.

The next day, Obaasan took everyone to Sunshine City, a city within the city. It had shops, restaurants, and an indoor theme park with games and rides. While Obaasan and Mom went shopping, Dad and Todd visited the theme park where Todd played video games.

Everything was turning out to be more interesting than Todd expected, but his best time was at a bunraku, or puppet theater. The puppets were as big as people and seemed to be alive. Because the puppets were so large, everything they said and did seemed exaggerated. Todd loved the colorful costumes and sets.

When it was time to return to America, Todd did not want to leave. It had been the best two weeks of his life! He asked Obaasan if he could come back next summer, and she said, “I would love that.”

1. Describe the perspective of the Native American narrator about the first Thanksgiving in the common lit "The Plymouth Thanksgiving Story”.

Answers

Answer: The author's perspective is different from other versions of the Thanksgiving story. He not only focuses on the happy side where the natives welcomed the Pilgrims but on the war that proceeded it as well.

Explanation: Many authors that tell the story of "The Plymouth Thanksgiving Story” describe how the Native Americans helped the Pilgrims when they arrived at their land, how they taught them to grow food and the beautiful friendship they had. However, Chuck Larsen not only relates the wonderful reasons why we celebrate Thanksgiving today, but also reminisces about the consequences it had when more Pilgrims arrived at their land with other intentions. He states that It's important to remember all of the nuances in the story, so that we can understand it better.

The American dream would still be considered achievable for some people depending on what they want and what we need. This dream can be achievable but it depends on who is running the country and leading a good one. Read this excerpt from Anne Frank Remembered.

He then began to curse me, shouting terrible words and saying that I was a traitor, that I would get a terrible punishment. He kept on cursing uncontrollably. I remained standing as tall as I could, not reacting at all to his words. The more he shouted, the more nervous he became. He began to pace from wall to wall. Suddenly, he spun on his heel and said, "What shall I do with you?"

At that moment, I began to feel that I was getting a little more control of the situation. I felt as though I'd grown a little in height. He studied me. I could hear him thinking, Here are two people standing across from each other who are from one country, from one city. One hunts Jews and the other protects them. He quieted down a bit; his face became more human.

What theme is most reflected in this excerpt?

Shame causes people to act differently from how they usually would.
People who behave honorably have confidence in their convictions.
Feelings of superiority usually come from a lack of self-confidence.
People who meet during times of war forge unlikely friendships.
