James Gleick, a science and technology writer, wrote a book titled "The Information: A History, a Theory, a Flood" in which he discusses the invention of the printing press by Johannes Gutenberg. While Gleick does not express a personal opinion or feeling about Gutenberg himself, he does recognize the significance of Gutenberg's invention in revolutionizing the spread of information and knowledge.
In his book, Gleick explains how the printing press allowed for the mass production of books, which in turn allowed ideas to be spread much more quickly and widely than before. He discusses how this led to a democratization of knowledge and helped to break down barriers between different social classes and cultures. Gleick also notes that the printing press paved the way for other communication technologies that would come later, such as the telegraph, the telephone, and the internet.
Overall, Gleick seems to have a great deal of admiration for the impact that Gutenberg's invention had on the world and on the history of information and communication.

in a small-group network, the chain ranks high in __________.
In a small-group network, the chain is a communication structure in which information flows sequentially from one member to the next in a linear fashion, similar to a chain.
The chain structure is characterized by a high degree of centralization, where one individual (usually the leader or the person at the beginning of the chain) has more control over the communication flow and decision-making process.
The chain structure is often associated with efficiency and clarity of communication, as there are fewer opportunities for misinterpretation or confusion. However, it can also be prone to delays, as the information must be relayed sequentially through all members of the chain before reaching the desired recipient. Additionally, the chain structure may limit the diversity of ideas and perspectives, as communication is restricted to a linear flow.

The Peanut Man
courtesy of the Library of Congress
George Washington Carver was a person born into slavery in Diamond Grove, Missouri, around 1864. He is one of the nation's most famous agricultural scientists. He is best known for his research on peanuts and his commitment to helping poor Southern African American farmers.
George Washington Carver was always interested in plants. When he was a child, he was known as the "plant doctor." He had a secret garden where he grew all kinds of plants. People would ask him for advice when they had sick plants. Sometimes he'd take their plants to his garden and nurse them back to health.
Later, when he was teaching at Tuskegee Institute, he put his plant skills to good use. Many people in the South had been growing only cotton on their land. Cotton plants use most of the nutrients in the soil. (Nutrients provide nourishment to plants.) So, the soil becomes "worn out" after a few years. Eventually, cotton will no longer grow on this land.
This was especially bad for poor African American farmers, who relied on selling cotton to support themselves. Carver was dedicated to helping those farmers, so he came up with a plan.
Carver knew that certain plants put nutrients back into the soil. One of those plants is the peanut! Peanuts are also a source of protein.
Carver thought that if those farmers planted peanuts, the plants would help restore their soil, provide food for their animals, and provide protein for their families--quite a plant! In 1896 peanuts were not even recognized as a crop in the United States, but Carver would help change that.
Carver told farmers to rotate their crops: plant cotton one year, then the next year plant peanuts and other soil-restoring plants, like peas and sweet potatoes. It worked! The peanut plants grew and produced lots of peanuts. The plants added enough nutrients to the soil so cotton grew the next year. Now the farmers had lots of peanuts--too many for their families and animals--and no place to sell the extras.
Carver invented all kinds of things made from peanuts. He wrote down more than 300 uses for peanuts, including peanut milk, peanut paper, and peanut soap. Carver thought that if farmers started making things out of peanuts, they'd have to buy fewer things and would be more self-sufficient. And if other people started making things out of peanuts, they would want to buy the extra peanuts, so the farmers would make more money. Although not many of Carver's peanut products were ever mass-produced, he did help spread the word about peanuts.
Peanuts became more and more popular. By 1920 there were enough peanut farmers to form the United Peanut Association of America (UPAA). In 1921 the UPAA asked Carver to speak to the U.S. Congress about the many uses for peanuts. Soon the whole country had heard of George Washington Carver, the Peanut Man! And by 1940 peanuts had become one of the top six crops in the U.S.

ANY COMMENT GETS BRAINLIEST In your own words, evaluate the objectivity of each article. Where can you see the authors’ personal biases? Where can you see an objective delivery of facts? What is the central message of each article?
* * *
the answer:
you can see that something is biased by the way it is written. If a writing is biased the author will use words to make you feel a certain way, they will put their own personal feelings or opinion in subtle ways in hope that the reader will agree with them. Unbiased writing would not have adjectives that are subjective, only plain fact. Proof of bias in t he first article is through the use of these phrases: "masterful skills" "terrible sportsmanship" this is bias because it is not simply stating what happened, the other is building a tone by saying things like "terrible". It might not have been terrible to everyone, so that makes it biased. Proof of bias the second article is: "Unfortunately" "unsportsmanlike activity" "overzealous" "egregious penalties" "disappointing. "
Objectivity is an important factor when evaluating any article. By carefully evaluating the objectivity of each article, you can get a better sense of the author's true intentions and the article's overall message.
To determine the objectivity of an article, look for signs of personal bias from the author, such as the use of loaded language or emotive words. Additionally, consider how well the article delivers facts objectively. When facts are presented in a clear and unbiased manner, they can be trusted as reliable sources.
The central message of each article should also be evaluated. Is the author trying to persuade readers to accept a particular opinion or viewpoint? Or is the author simply presenting facts and allowing readers to make up their own minds? If the article is attempting to persuade readers to accept a particular opinion, it is likely to contain personal biases.

Just then a Weasel came by. He understood the situation quickly.
"My friend," he said, "I know what you've been doing. You've been stuffing. That's what you get. You will have to stay there till you feel just like you did when you went in. Good night, and good enough for you."

According to Hersey and Blanchard's situational leadership theory, the lowest level of readiness is referred to as "D1 - Directing" where a follower is unable, unwilling, or insecure.
At this level of readiness, the follower lacks the skills, knowledge, or confidence to perform the task at hand, and requires a high level of direction and guidance from the leader. The leader must provide clear instructions and closely supervise the follower to ensure that the task is completed correctly.
As the follower gains more skills and confidence, they move up the readiness levels and require less direction and support from the leader. The other readiness levels in the situational leadership theory are "D2 - Coaching," "D3 - Supporting," and "D4 - Delegating."

According to Hersey and Blanchard's Situational Leadership Theory, the lowest level of readiness is R1, where a follower is unable, unwilling, or insecure.
The situational leadership theory, developed by Hersey and Blanchard, suggests that effective leadership is dependent on the readiness level of followers. Readiness level is determined by a combination of two factors: ability and willingness. The theory identifies four levels of readiness: low, moderate, high, and very high. In this level, the follower lacks the necessary skills, knowledge, or experience to complete the task at hand and is also unwilling or insecure about their ability to perform the task.
As a result, they require a high level of direction and support from their leader to achieve the desired outcome.
