The study of the geographic, economic, political, social, and cultural environments, and the impact these have on the environment is known as Urbanism.

What is Urbanism?

Urbanism is the study of how people interact with the built environment in urban settings, such as towns and cities. It is an integral part of fields like urban sociology, which is an academic field that studies urban life and culture, and urban planning, a profession that concentrates on the physical design and administration of urban buildings.

In terms of a complex division of labor, advanced technology, high degrees of mobility, interdependence of its members in carrying out economic functions, and impersonality in social interactions, it mirrors how society is organized.

Urbanism is a unique idea that contains all the traits associated with urbanization and the urban way of life. Louis Wirth provided the concept with its ultimate form.  It is an evolving idea, just as urban life is, on the surface, a growing and ever-evolving phenomenon.

Explanation: Many authors that tell the story of "The Plymouth Thanksgiving Story” describe how the Native Americans helped the Pilgrims when they arrived at their land, how they taught them to grow food and the beautiful friendship they had. Answers

Answer:

The narrator believed that she and her mother looked comical to the strangers.

Explanation:

"Funny in Farsi" is a memoir written by Firoozeh Dumas. The book deals with the author's moving to America from Iran and the suddden change of surroundings, culture, people, language etc.

Now, we can infer the author's attention in this sentence from it's context. She compares their visit to the stranger's house to a personal circus performance. To most people, visit to a circus is funny and entertaining, so Dumas concludes that was the way strangers felt to the sight of her and her mother due to different clothes, customs and a complete lack of basics of the language.

Read the excerpt from “The Telephone: A Truer Tale.” The year was 1849, and Antonio Meucci, a man trained in engineering, was experimenting with electricity. He and a doctor were trying to determine if electric shock could be used to cure illnesses. One day, when he turned on the switches to treat a patient in another room, he heard the patient yelp. However, the voice had not come from the next room—it had come from the copper wire that ran between them! Following that fateful day, Meucci left his medical experiments behind. Instead, he set a goal to develop that talking wire into a machine he called a “talking telegraph.” After six years of trials and tests, he was able to build a working model. Meucci found it to be a useful device almost immediately. Based on the sequence of events in the excerpt, which sentence best states a cause-and-effect relationship?

A.Because Antonio Meucci was a trained engineer, he was able to invent a “talking telegraph.”

B.Because electricity was used to cure sickness, Antonio Meucci invented the “talking telegraph.”

C.Because the device was so useful, Antonio Meucci invented the “talking telegraph.”

D Because he heard a patient’s yelp through a copper wire, Antonio Meucci invented the “talking telegraph.”

need answer today Fourteen Days in Tokyo

It was July, and Todd wanted to hang out with his friends. Yet, on Friday, Todd and his family were flying to Tokyo, Japan. They would visit his grandmother, Obaasan. She liked being called by the Japanese word for grandmother. Obaasan promised to show them around Tokyo, but Todd really did not want to leave San Francisco.

First of all, they had to sit through an 11-hour flight to Tokyo. Todd’s mother was petite, so she didn’t suffer from the small amount of space each passenger had, but his father was soon complaining about leg cramps. This trip was even worse than Todd had expected.

After a taxi ride, they were at Obaasan’s apartment in a modern building. She met them with a big hug. Obaasan had prepared a special meal for them. Todd liked the rice and grilled tuna, but he didn’t care for the cake of soybeans called tofu. He had never eaten pickled vegetables, but the taste was not bad.

That night, Todd was exhausted and slept well. The next morning, Obaasan took them to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, the tallest building in the city. The observatory decks at the top are the best place to view all of Tokyo. It was a clear morning, so they could see Mount Fuji. It was the tallest mountain in Japan and a kind of volcano. Todd had never seen such a view! Maybe this trip would not be boring after all.

In the distance there is a volcano with a tree in the front of it.

Afterwards, they ate at a restaurant in the building. Everyone ordered sushi, a small, tasty food and a delicacy. Some pieces were rice rolled with fish and others were rice rolled with vegetables. The sushi in San Francisco was not nearly as good.

The next day, Obaasan took everyone to Sunshine City, a city within the city. It had shops, restaurants, and an indoor theme park with games and rides. While Obaasan and Mom went shopping, Dad and Todd visited the theme park where Todd played video games.

Everything was turning out to be more interesting than Todd expected, but his best time was at a bunraku, or puppet theater. The puppets were as big as people and seemed to be alive. Because the puppets were so large, everything they said and did seemed exaggerated. Todd loved the colorful costumes and sets.

When it was time to return to America, Todd did not want to leave. It had been the best two weeks of his life! He asked Obaasan if he could come back next summer, and she said, “I would love that.”

This question has two parts. First, answer part A. Then, answer part B.

Part A:
Which statement best summarizes the theme of the text?

A.
Tokyo is the best city in the world.

B.
It is a long way from San Francisco to Tokyo.

C.
Sometimes we have to try something new to enjoy it.

D.
Many things in Japan are different from what an American is used to.

Part B:
Which sentence from the text best supports your answer in part A?

A.
“It was July, and Todd wanted to hang out with his friends.”

B.
“He had never eaten pickled vegetables, but the taste was not bad.”

C.
“Due to being awake during the protracted flight, Todd was exhausted and slept well.”

D.
“The sushi in San Francisco was not nearly as good.”
