This is for religion:
1. Why is our relationship with God so frequently stated in terms of what we do for one another?
2. Why does Jesus not seem to give us exact ethical norms? How do we know what Jesus wants
us to do in a particular circumstance?

Answer 1
I know this is a lengthy answer but hopefully it answers your questions:))
1. To keep in our mind and hearts what he would want us to do for our neighbor.

“Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” Romans 3:10
“The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:31
There is also the verse of where it is stated “love your neighbor so he so loved the earth” not sure what verse it is though.
2.All I can say is God has a plan for you and loves you so very much. Eventually if you take the right steps you will be right on track and you will have reached you ethical norms. You will know what The Father would like for you to choose when you sit in the still, don’t listen to the roar of the world, and speak to him.

In the course of the construction of the Bridge a number of lives have been lost. Does it not sometimes seem as though every work of enduring value, in the material as in the moral world, must needs be purchased at the cost of human life? Let us recall with kindness at this hour the work of those who labored here faithfully unto the death, no less than of that great army of men who have wrought, year in and year out, to execute the great design. Let us give our meed of praise to-day to the humblest workman who has here done his duty well, no less than to the great engineer who told him what to do.
