Which statement best explains how the organizational structure of the passage helps develop the main idea?

When Alana first came to Timber Creek, things sure looked different than they do now. The only structures in town were canvas tents, and folks had to wait for supplies to come by wagon train. Once the railroad was built, supplies arrived much more quickly. A sawmill went up the following year, and people started building wooden homes and shops. Now, Timber Creek has a real paved road through the center of town.
A.
The chronological structure gives reasons and makes arguments in order to show how life in Timber Creek could be improved.
B.
The compare-and-contrast structure examines Alana's life before and after the sawmill was built in order to prove that wooden houses are superior to tents.
C.
The problem-solution structure identifies the difficulty of getting supplies in order to show how important the railroad is to Timber Creek.
D.
The chronological structure describes the changes that came to Timber Creek in order to show how the community has developed over time.

Where in the world?

The world is a beautiful place, isn't it? There's oceans, mountains, plains and even beautiful forests! Out of all the options, where would you go? To japan with a lot of anime stores and anime themed places or Alaska where it’s very cold but you could live in an igloo? This question is quite hard to answer because your mind floods with ideas, right? Well, I have to say same because Japan seems awesome but also the Uk stands out or Ireland! But because for my love of hammerhead sharks and yes this is a bit cliché, I chose Monterey California. This magical place provides many scenic views and places to take your family and have a good time.

A Good place

I was attracted to this place because of Monterey Bay Aquarium. They have a wide variety of things to offer but what caught my eye was hammerhead sharks! They also offer sea turtles, stingrays, sharks, jellyfish and schools of fish. With 45 interactive exhibits that include reptiles, octopi, birds, fish and invertebrates! Though it is a bit costly you defiantly would get your money's worth. Not only is there an amazing aquarium but there are also a variety of places to eat and many more things to do there.

Cool Houses?

Wouldn’t you like to be in an entire neighborhood filled with mystic looking houses!? Well sadly you can't live in them but you can take a self-guided audio tour and learn all about the history of Carmel-by-the-Sea's Fairytale houses. These houses are rich in history. C'mon man I want to live in these really cool houses!

! Other attractions!

Yes, there’s definitely more like a Denis The Menace park! There is also a lovely tavern called Melville Tavern. There are many sites to see like the Lone Cypress and caves to explore. There are many amazing places to see and just be with your family and that’s exactly why I want to go.

Conclusion

In conclusion, if I could go anywhere, I would want it to be a place where my family could follow, where we all could do things, we enjoy and I do believe that this place is exactly that place. It offers many things for everyone of all ages to enjoy and that is what makes this place very lovely.

Game or Sport?

Golf: Is it a game or sport? Many people argue that golf is a game, not a sport. A game is defined as an activity engaged in for diversion or amusement. A sport is defined as physical activity engaged in for pleasure. Based upon these definitions, golf is a game and not a sport.
When golfers play, they very rarely wear any form of protective gear to protect their bodies from impact that may take place during the game. In fact, golf is very rarely described as the sport of golf. Instead, it is referred to as the game of golf. On the other hand, we hear football, soccer, volleyball, and lacrosse referenced as sports, but the activity of engaging in competitions with other people are games. On its own, this fact should help people who are speculating about golf better understand that the competition is what makes a game, not the actual activity itself.
Ultimately, the question of game or sport may boil down to semantics, or the study of words and their meanings. In this case, it is cut and dry. Golf is a solo activity that is more mental than physical. When people consider the challenges of being an athlete, one thing they very rarely worry about is the competition they will face with their minds. Golf, while it may have some physical elements, is purely mathematics and focus. Athleticism on the other hand, is the inner competition and the drive to win against competitors.

2
Which argument has the strongest support in the passage?
A.
Golf is a game played for amusement.
B.
Golf lacks the use of protective gear.
C.
Golf relies on more mental than physical ability.
D.
Golf is is not considered competitive.

What did the election of 1856 show? There was a political divide between the North and the South. A third-party candidate could do well in a presidential election. Slavery was the main issue dividing the main parties.

Answers

Answer:

Slavery was the main issue dividing the main parties.

Explanation:

The election of 1856 in which James Buchanan won as a Democratic presidential candidate, against the Know-Nothings party and the Republican party, shows that "Slavery was the main issue dividing the main parties."

This is evident in the fact that the Democratic party was perceived by the public as a party in support of slavery.

Hence, some Democrats and Whigs party members fall out to form new parties, the Know-Nothing Party, and the Republican party.

The Know-Nothings party has the ideal of anti-immigration, while the Republicans have the anti-slavery ideals.
