Write a story on,”You discovered a magic pencil while you were traveling with your friends”.

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

Story writing about a magic pencil found while traveling with friends.

Explanation:

Once during our summer vacations, a group of us decided to travel to the hills to escape the big cities and the heat. And as planned, we were on our way by the very next day.

Once we got to the resort, the scenery was something out of a fairytale. Lush green trees, mountains, clear skies- everything was as one would expect nature to be. It was so different from the big cities full of only concrete and noise. Here, everything was serene and you could clearly hear the birds sing.

We went trekking along the path to the forest, a familiar path for the tribal people living in the area. It was during one such leisure walks that I came upon a pencil, normal-looking but attractive in a way that it makes you wonder why it looks so antique. And as it was old looking, I decided that it would make a good souvenir and decided to take it with me.

One day, while taking down details of places we were to visit, I couldn't find any pen to use so I impulsively reach for the pencil, without giving it much thought. Nothing happened when I write down the words. But, as my fingers started doodling and trying to sketch, I was given the shock of my life when the apple that I drew emerged from the paper. Still in shock, I decided to test it again, this time, drawing a leaf. It immediately came real and it was then that I realized maybe this was a magic pencil.

I did not want to tell my friends about it or else they will either make fun of me or try to take it away from me. So, hiding the pencil, I tried my best to act normal. I didn't have the chance to try out the pencil for the whole trip. And on the very last day of our trip, I thought I might as well see if it still works. And sure, it did. Still unsure what to do with it, I then decided to take it with me to the city.

But unfortunately, I lost the pencil during the train ride, or maybe someone mistook it for a normal pencil and just used it and forgot to put it back. Whatever has happened is in the past, but I will, for sure, remember the experience I had in using the pencil. It was the one personal memory that will remain with me for the rest of my life.

from “Where I Lived, and What I Lived For” in Walden
by Henry David Thoreau
Look at a meeting-house, or a court-house, or a jail, or a shop, or a dwelling-house, and say what that thing really is before a true gaze, and they would all go to pieces in your account of them. Men esteem truth remote, in the outskirts of the system, behind the farthest star, before Adam and after the last man. In eternity there is indeed something true and sublime. But all these times and places and occasions are now and here. God himself culminates in the present moment, and will never be more divine in the lapse of all the ages. And we are enabled to apprehend at all what is sublime and noble only by the perpetual instilling and drenching of the reality that surrounds us. The universe constantly and obediently answers to our conceptions; whether we travel fast or slow, the track is laid for us. Let us spend our lives in conceiving then. The poet or the artist never yet had so fair and noble a design but some of his posterity at least could accomplish it.
Let us spend one day as deliberately as Nature, and not be thrown off the track by every nutshell and mosquito’s wing that falls on the rails. Let us rise early and fast, or break fast, gently and without perturbation; let company come and let company go, let the bells ring and the children cry—determined to make a day of it. Why should we knock under and go with the stream? Let us not be upset and overwhelmed in that terrible rapid and whirlpool called a dinner, situated in the meridian shallows. Weather this danger and you are safe, for the rest of the way is down hill. With unrelaxed nerves, with morning vigor, sail by it, looking another way, tied to the mast like Ulysses. If the engine whistles, let it whistle till it is hoarse for its pains. If the bell rings, why should we run? We will consider what kind of music they are like. Let us settle ourselves, and work and wedge our feet downward through the mud and slush of opinion, and prejudice, and tradition, and delusion, and appearance, that alluvion which covers the globe, through Paris and London, through New York and Boston and Concord, through Church and State, through poetry and philosophy and religion, till we come to a hard bottom and rocks in place, which we can call reality, and say, This is, and no mistake; and then begin, having a point d'appui, below freshet and frost and fire, a place where you might found a wall or a state, or set a lamp-post safely, or perhaps a gauge, not a Nilometer, but a Realometer, that future ages might know how deep a freshet of shams and appearances had gathered from time to time. If you stand right fronting and face to face to a fact, you will see the sun glimmer on both its surfaces, as if it were a cimeter, and feel its sweet edge dividing you through the heart and marrow, and so you will happily conclude your mortal career. Be it life or death, we crave only reality. If we are really dying, let us hear the rattle in our throats and feel cold in the extremities; if we are alive, let us go about our business.
Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in. I drink at it; but while I drink I see the sandy bottom and detect how shallow it is. Its thin current slides away, but eternity remains. I would drink deeper; fish in the sky, whose bottom is pebbly with stars. I cannot count one. I know not the first letter of the alphabet. I have always been regretting that I was not as wise as the day I was born. The intellect is a cleaver; it discerns and rifts its way into the secret of things. I do not wish to be any more busy with my hands than is necessary. My head is hands and feet. I feel all my best faculties concentrated in it. My instinct tells me that my head is an organ for burrowing, as some creatures use their snout and fore paws, and with it I would mine and burrow my way through these hills. I think that the richest vein is somewhere hereabouts; so by the divining-rod and thin rising vapors I judge; and here I will begin to mine.

Rebel movements that have emerged from black African tribes are demanding more participation in the state and the development of their region. The government is taking military action against the rebels and is supporting local militias in this struggle, which consist of Arab rider nomads and have come to be known as Janjawid.

According to an uncertain estimate, there were at least 600,000 deaths until now, and 7.2 million people were displaced from their homes. In your opinion, have attitudes toward racism improved, remained

Answers

Answer and Explanation:

In my opinion, attitudes towards racism in our modern society have changed very little compared to the society described in TKaM. Although we no longer have racial segregation, the black population suffers from intense racism, in addition to being constant victims of racial violence, being devalued, discrediting and even killed in the name of the intolerance and prejudice that racism promotes. We have not evolved in relation to racism, on the contrary, society, led by whites, encourages a system where blacks never have a voice and are always the victims.

what does the poetess say about the sea and the feet of the children in the photograph?

Answers

Answer:

She says the human's feet and bodies are always changing, they are fleeting and impermanent, while the sea always looks the same and seems to look unchanged.

Explanation:

Poetess Shirley Toulson expresses her experience of watching a photograph of her mother as a child in her poem "A Photograph".

In one part she describes the image with the words:

And the sea, which appears to have changed less,

Washed their terribly transient feet

This line reflects the passage of time and the stillness of nature.

The feet of the girls, one being her mother as a child, have changed so much over the years. The girls got older and their bodies grew older, so the feet so have changed so much and to exists like that only for that short moment of taking a photograph. The look of the human’s body is only temporary, it changes until it finally dies and disappears from the material world, just like the poetess’s mother did.

Yet, nature seems to stay the same – seas stay in the same place for hundreds of years, always remaining blue. No matter how many people pass, how many people it touches, it looks the same to us.

Therefore, the poetess compares the passage of time and how it is reflected in the human body, to how it doesn’t mean anything for nature.
